Two power outages, one near Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver, left more than 400 customers without power for part of Thursday morning, according to Clark Public Utilities.

The outage downtown was reported just before 6 a.m. and affected 397 customers, Clark PUD spokeswoman Erica Erland said. Power was restored at 7:48 a.m.

Another outage nearby, on the other side of Interstate 5, affected 25 customers and lasted from 4:16 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., she said.

Clark County was fortunate to weather Tuesday’s storm as well as it did, she said.

“Because of that, we were able to send two crews and a supervisor north to help the Snohomish PUD (on Wednesday) and two of our servicemen to Cascade Locks (Thursday) to aid in their restoration efforts,” she said. “We expect all of our guys to be back home this weekend, but in the meantime they’re helping make headway in the other areas of our state much more hard-hit.”

Elsewhere in the state, Tuesday’s storm left three dead and tens of thousands without power.

Clark PUD said there were 31 outages reported across Clark County on Tuesday evening, affecting almost 5,000 customers. At most, about 2,000 customers people were without power at one time.
