Two adults and two children were displaced by a fire in their rental home near east Vancouver early Monday morning, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

At about 2:20 that morning, firefighters were called to a house fire at 16221 N.E. 12th St., and crews arrived to find two adults and two teens outside of the house, along with heavy smoke coming from the rear of the building, firefighter Pete Adams said.

The fire burned into the attic, and firefighters were able to get up to the second floor, break through the ceiling and put the remaining fire out, he said.

Adams said the displaced residents were able to find another rental to stay in, and the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating.

The Red Cross also responded.
