Interstate 5 Bridge work to cause delays

Vancouver – Maintenance on both spans of the Interstate 5 Bridge is going to likely cause delays of up to 30 minutes starting today and lasting through Saturday.

Crews will work mostly in the evenings, but some work needs to be done during the day.

• Today, the northbound span will lift and close periodically from 5:30 a.m. to 6 a.m., noon to 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight.

• Wednesday, the southbound span will lift and close from 5:30 a.m. to 6 a.m., noon to 2 p.m,. and 10 p.m. to midnight.

• Thursday, the northbound span will lift and close intermittently from 10 p.m. to midnight and midnight to 5 a.m.

• Friday morning, the southbound span will lift and close intermittently from midnight to 5 a.m.

• Friday evening, both spans will lift and close intermittently from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. while crews oil six miles of bridge cables.

More maintenance is planned for July.

The Interstate Bridge is owned jointly by Oregon and Washington. Maintenance is handled by the Oregon Department of Transportation.
