The 10th season of girls high school lacrosse in Clark County begins on Tuesday when the Evergreen Lacrosse Club plays at Puyallup. The team will play its first home game at 6 p.m. on Thursday against Curtis of Tacoma. Evergreen Lacrosse Club plays its home games at McKenzie Stadium.

A total of 46 girls from seven area high schools are in the ELC program this season. This is the first time since the program formed in 2007 that the team has been open to girls from outside the Evergreen School District.

In addition to its Washington Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association games, Evergreen Lacrosse Club will play several Oregon teams. That includes a March 15 visit to McKenzie Stadium by West Linn, the 2015 Oregon state champions.

Sanctioned by the Evergreen School District, the program formed in 2007 for girls attending Evergreen School District high schools. The ELC varsity has qualified for the Washington Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association playoffs six times, but has not yet won a playoff. This season ELC is in a new division, the Peninsula Division, paired with five Puget Sound area schools.

Boys lacrosse — The boys high school lacrosse season begins next week.

This season there are four programs in Southwest Washington, with Columbia River, Skyview, Camas and Union fielding teams.
