A Vancouver hiker reported lost was found safe Sunday on Mount Hood.

At about 9:45 a.m., the Clackamas County, Ore., Sheriff’s Office took a report of a lost 24-year-old man on the mountain, according to a news release from the agency.

Members of the Clackamas County search and rescue team made contact with the hiker and learned that he was not hurt, just exhausted.

At 1:40 p.m., the sheriff’s office released another statement announcing that the missing hiker had “found his way to safety. The hiker is not injured but tired.”

Portland Mountain Rescue and the Mountain Wave Emergency Communications team assisted in the search.
