Union Lacrosse will host Gonzaga Prep of Spokane on Wednesday in the semifinals of the Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association Division II state tournament.

The contest starts at 6 p.m. at Cardon Field at Camas High School. The winner advances to Saturday’s Division II state championship match.

Union beat visiting White River 14-10 in a state quarterfinal match on May 21. A seven-goal third quarter turned a 5-2 halftime lead into a 12-5 advantage for Union.

Isaiah Pratt had four goals and three assists to pace the Union attack. Cayden Thompson also scored four goals and Andrew Harrah scored three Union goals.

Sam Rink, Nate Lindquist and Hunter Cofer each added a goal for Union. Jonathan Stell won 19 faceoffs. Goalie Dominic Mendez made eight saves.

It was the 11th consecutive win for Union (14-4) and avenged a one-goal loss to White River earlier this season.

Pratt, a junior at King’s Way Christian, leads Union with 65 goals and 20 assists and has fielded 29 ground balls in 18 games this season. Union junior Parker Lindhorst has 28 goals, 26 assists and 49 ground balls in 16 games.

Gonzaga Prep (14-2) reached the semifinals with a 12-11 win over Liberty in the quarterfinals.

The state championship match will be played at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila. Richland, which finished second behind Union in the Central South Division, visits Seattle Academy for the other Division II semifinal match.

Division II is for newer and smaller boys lacrosse programs in Washington. Union, which includes players who attend several other schools, Camas and Columbia River fielded Division II varsity teams this season. Skyview fielded a junior varsity lacrosse team and is expected to join varsity competition in 2017.
