Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon when a car crossed the center line on state Highway 503 in Cowlitz County and hit another vehicle.

Kassandra A. Robello, 28, of Vancouver was driving a 2015 silver Mazda sedan north on the highway about 14 miles east of Woodland when, at about 4:30 p.m., her vehicle traveled into oncoming traffic and hit a 2016 orange Toyota Tacoma head-on, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Robello was injured and taken to a hospital by another citizen, State Patrol said.

The Tacoma’s driver, 55-year-old Ariel resident Robert G. Bennett, also was hurt, troopers said. He was taken to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center. His condition was not available Wednesday night.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts when the vehicles collided.

Robello faces a charge of second-degree negligent driving, according to the State Patrol.
