Boys basketball: Battle Ground 74, Hockinson 48

Vincent McCormic led five Tigers in double figures as Battle Ground rolled past a shorthanded Hockinson squad.

The Hawks had to bring up several junior varsity players to fill out the roster as several varsity players are not yet eligible after playing in last weekend’s state football championship game.

McCormic had 14 points to pace the Tigers (3-1). Scott Hatch had 12, Brendan Beall added 11, Keandre Hunter-Holliday and freshman Kaden Perry scored 10 each.

Micah Paulson paced the Hawks (0-1) with 18 points, including four 3-pointers.

HOCKINSON (0-1) — Micah Paulsen 18, Carson Yinger 5, Jake Hull 6, Cameron Venema 2, Mason Panfiglio 13, Grant Garver 4. Totals 17 (9) 5-7 48.
