Nutrition program offers tasting at resource center




Marrion — Washington State University Extension’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education worked with Marrion Elementary School’s Family Community Resource Center to provide shoppers with an Asian noodle salad tasting. The recipe paired whole wheat pasta, canned peas, peanut butter and any fresh vegetable that was available in the pantry. The Evergreen Public Schools resource centers help families obtain information and get referrals for services and navigate the system to access services. They also offer help with school supplies, food and clothing and computer, printer and phone access.
