A Yacolt-area woman is being held on $50,000 bail after she was arrested on suspicion of lighting a home and shop on fire Wednesday.

Angie Mae Ingram, 46, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree arson after telling deputies on scene she lit a fire in a shop and house in the 15900 block of Northeast Gabriel Road, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Firefighters were called to the address about a shop fire shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

According to a probable cause declaration filed with court records, a responding deputy contacted Ingram upon arriving. Ingram, he said, was standing in the front yard of the house laughing and smiling.

As firefighters with Fire District 10 started to work on the fire, Ingram started to ask questions about how long it would take the firefighters to put it out, how many were needed and, according to court records, “Maybe they can put the house fire out while they are here.”

The deputy said he watched Ingram go back into the house, a double-wide manufactured home, and he noticed through a window what looked like flames, court records said.

Ingram then walked outside and said she thought the house was on fire. When he asked if she started it, she laughed and said the firefighters should probably put it out, court records said.

She gestured at the deputy to come inside, according to court records, and when he did, he saw curtains over a bed had caught fire.

Ingram was arrested and the firefighters tended to the other fire.

A witness who reported the fire told investigators she contacted Ingram about the fire. Ingram, the witness said, told her she knew the shop was on fire because she started it, court records said.

Ingram’s next court appearance, where she may be formally charged, was scheduled for Oct. 26.
