Racanelli brothers connect as Hockinson rolls past Prairie, 42-6

Canon accounts for three TDs, Sawyer catches one

Senior quarterback Canon Racanelli threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as ninth-ranked Hockinson defeated Prairie 42-6 in non-league action at Hockinson High School.

Canon Racanelli threw for 293 yards for the Hawks, who ran their record to 2-0.

Canon’s brother Sawyer led the Hawks receivers catching six passes for 124 yards and a touchdown.

The Hockinson ground game was paced by Bailey Jones who ran for 67 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown.

The Hawks defense also got into the scoring column courtesy of Kyle Brabec who forced a fumble, recovered it, and ran 48 yards to the end zone in the third quarter.

For Prairie, junior quarterback Jayson Maddux threw for 117 yards and a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jake Bobst who made a one-handed catch on the play.

Aaron Brumley had two interceptions for the Falcons (0-2).

Next Friday Hockinson opens 2A Greater St. Helens league play when it travels to Woodland. Prairie, plays host to Black Hills in a non-league game at District Stadium in Battle Ground.
