A 15-year-old arrested Monday in connection to a shooting, robbery and other gun-related crimes made his first appearance in juvenile court on Tuesday.

Robert Daniel Knezevich III is being held on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, second-degree assault and harassment for making death threats, according to court records.

Additional charges may be pending: The Vancouver Police Department said officers booked Knezevich on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, drive-by shooting and unlawful possession of a firearm in a shooting at an apartment complex, and first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and felony harassment in the robbery of a Chevron gas station.

Knezevich most recently lived in Silverdale, according to court records.

Officers arrested Knezevich Monday after getting a call about several people spray-painting a garbage bin behind the Stay Bridge Suites, 7301 N.E. 41st St.

They arrested him on an outstanding warrant, according to an investigator’s probable cause declaration included with court documents. Inside the car, officers found several packages of Swisher Sweets cigars and a Guy Fawkes mask, such as the one worn in the “V for Vendetta” comic and movie.

That weekend, after midnight Nov. 1, officers responded to an armed robbery at the Chevron gas station at 1900 N.E. 192nd Ave., where a store clerk said someone wearing a Guy Fawkes mask walked in and robbed the store at gunpoint.

The suspect left on foot after taking about $50 and several cigars.

A review of surveillance video from the robbery found the suspect wore similar clothes as what Knezevich had on when arrested, according to court records.

In an interview, Knezevich admitted he was the one in the video, according to court records.

In another incident, officers on Oct. 2 responded to the Heather Falls Apartments, 6422 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., for multiple 911 calls for gunshots.

There, they found multiple spent shell casings and several bullet holes in nearby cars and buildings.

Investigators spoke with Knezevich Nov. 19 when he was being held in a Snohomish County juvenile detention facility.

According to court records, he again admitted to robbing the Chevron, a home-invasion robbery, a first-degree assault and multiple attempts to kill rival gang members.

Knezevich said he was an active, working member of the Norteño gang, according to court records, and that he twice tried to kill a man at the Heather Falls Apartments.
He told officers he drove by the complex one day, but chose not to try shooting the man, who was holding his child at the time.

He said when he came back later, he saw the man working on his car, then emptied almost the entire 30-round magazine of his pistol firing at the man. Knezevich said he also tried again two days later, according to court records.

The second shooting was still being investigated, according to court records. How or why Knezevich was out of custody from the Snohomish County facility was unclear in court records.

His next court date was scheduled for Wednesday morning.
