Boys basketball: Prairie 55, Huntington Beach (Calif.) 42

Kameron Osborn surpassed 1,000 career points as the Falcons won their opening game at the Cactus Jam in Phoenix.

Osborn led Prairie with 14 points. The senior guard reached the 1,000 point milestone on his first shot of the game, a 3-pointer, as the Falcons sprinted to a 19-4 lead in the first quarter.

Aidan Fraly added 12 points for Prairie, which advanced to the semifinals of the tournament’s Cactus Division. The Falcons face Colony High of Palmer, Alaska on Friday at 3 p.m.
