A chase on southbound Interstate 5 blocked traffic for several minutes Monday night as police pursued a fleeing suspect.

The pursuit started roughly after 9 p.m., according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn said the chase began after Clark County sheriff’s deputies responded to a harassment call.

The vehicle pursuit spilled onto the highway, he said, where sheriff’s deputies bumped to fleeing vehicle to run it off the road.

At around 9:30 p.m., all lanes heading south near Main Street were blocked for a few minutes as police responded.

Finn said three people were detained. The roadway was back open by 9:50 p.m.
