Letter: Support Long for Congress

By Jeff Bunker, Vancouver
Published: July 16, 2018, 6:00am

I encourage Southwest Washingtonians to consider Carolyn Long for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District seat. We need a representative willing to engage constituents in public forums, rather than selective meetings. We need someone willing to listen, and to fight for economic security, transportation, education, health care, immigration reform and social services for those in disadvantaged communities.

At public forums, Long will discuss any subject, not shy away from the most controversial. She wants to engage because when citizens are included, they’re eager to be involved in their communities. A vote for Carolyn Long is a vote for a more inclusive community.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
