Esther Short — The Fort Vancouver Rose Society spent time March 10 pruning and cleaning the Esther Short Park Rose Garden. Society co-president Louis Rossetto, consulting rosarian, gave impromptu pruning lessons to passersby and members of the society. The pruning and cleaning of the garden is an annual spring event, which officially opens the garden to the Esther Short neighborhood and park visitors. Society meetings are open to everyone, and the group meets 7 p.m. the first Thursday of the month from February through June and September through December at the Clark County Genealogical Society Center annex, 715 Grand Blvd., Vancouver.
