Boys basketball: Mountain View 77, Hockinson 28

Kaden Horn and Sam Frosh each scored 16 points as the Thunder opened their season with a road win.

Devin Vellott scored 11 points and Eba Abu added 10 for Mountain View, which led 26-4 after the first quarter.

Micah Paulsen scored 17 points for Hockinson.

Both teams were missing key players who also play football. Hockinson is in this Saturday’s 2A state championship game and Mountain View’s season ended Saturday in the 3A semifinals.
