ALDERWOOD MANOR — Authorities say a man in his 20s was shot and killed by a Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy after leading the deputy on a chase near in Snohomish County.
KOMO reports the incident unfolded at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday when deputies responded to a disturbance call. A man and a female passenger took off in a pickup truck as deputies arrived.
One of the deputies pursued the vehicle and tried to stop it multiple times during the high-speed chase. The suspect driver eventually stopped near Alderwood Manor, where he got into a confrontation with deputies. Shots were fired and the suspect was struck.
The suspect was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died.
The female passenger, also in her 20s, was unharmed and remained at the scene. No deputies were hurt in the altercation.
