Prep Highlights: Mansur leads Ridgefield baseball to 2A GSHL opening win

Josh Mansur turned out a dominating performance for the Ridgefield baseball team as the Spudders opened the 2A Greater St. Helens League with a 5-1 win over R.A. Long on Monday at RORC.

Mansur gave up one run on two hits with 13 strikeouts and no walks on 90 pitches.

Ridgefield scored all five of its runs in the second inning.

Spencer Andersen hit a two-run home run, Brayden Hansen hit a out-out run-scoring single, and Kellen Bringhurst hit a two-run single.

Bringhurst also had a double in the sixth inning.

• Maddy Starwalt, Skyview girls golf, shot a 42 on the Tri-Mountain front 9 for medalist honors as the Storm beat Washougal 188-252.

• Mario Juarez, Fort Vancouver boys soccer, posted seven saves in goal in Fort’s 2-1 nonleague win over Battle Ground.

• Evan Underland and Miles Miranda, Columbia River boys soccer, combined for six saves in a shutout of Woodland, 4-0.

• Fernando Jimenez, Ridgefield boys soccer, had a goal and assist in the Spudders’ 2-1 win over Hockinson.
