NW Natural customers in Hood River and White Salmon are expected to temporarily lose natural gas service Monday morning, the utility says.

NW Natural said a driver crashed into a district regulator station late Sunday, prompting the shutdown. The utility said early Monday that it didn’t have an estimate as to when the service would be restored.

“NW Natural is working with emergency officials to determine the impact to customers and on a plan to reactivate gas service,” the utility said in a statement.

Utility customers don’t need to take any action because of the outage. They should not relight their equipment, according to NW Natural.

Technicians will restore service to affected customers.

NW Natural serves approximately 5,000 customers in the Hood River and White Salmon area.
