A three-vehicle crash Tuesday in Central Oregon killed a 26-year-old Vancouver man.

Oregon State Police said in a news release that troopers and medics responded around 12:15 p.m. to the crash on U.S. Route 26 near Milepost 112.

A preliminary investigation found that a Nissan Pathfinder, driven by 71-year-old Bonnie McCoy of Milwaukie, Ore., was westbound and tried to pass a Dodge Ram towing a travel-trailer, driven by Deborah Dunne, 65, of North Plains, Ore.

Troopers say McCoy collided with an eastbound Infinity, driven by Ryan Gile of Vancouver.

Gile was taken to St. Charles Madras Hospital in Madras, Ore., where he was pronounced dead.

McCoy was also taken to St. Charles Madras and then flown via air ambulance to another St. Charles hospital in Bend, Ore. McCoy’s passenger, 71-year-old Barry Barber of Milwaukie, Ore., was also flown to the hospital in Bend, according to troopers.
