Letter: Change is coming

By John Newton, Vancouver

It always seems to me that when Ann Donnelly sounds the dog whistle to incite fear (“socialism,” “abortion,” “Republican Party principles”) as she has Sunday, it is slightly less shrill than many of her cultish cohort. But, in essence, it is the same dog whistle and the same aggrieved fear.

Already frightened people are an easy target. What all the fear-mongering fails to recognize is that change is coming. This is as natural as rainfall in the Pacific Northwest (west of the Cascades at least).
