Letter: Get a job, you lazy bums

Why is it OK to let tents, garbage, drugs, etc. invade our cities with no consequences? I have seen people at freeways and other places panhandling on my way to work and 10 hours later, those same people are still there. But can’t they work an eight-hour job?

When you consider the number of people that really need and want help versus the ones that want to live anywhere they want, ruining the quality of life for everyone else, when is enough enough? They want freebies, don’t want to work and live like vermin. Are they trying to turn Vancouver neighborhoods and freeways into cesspools like downtown Portland and its surrounding neighborhoods?

There are signs everyday for businesses that are hiring. Stop enabling bad choices and giving free handouts. There is such a thing as taking responsibility for your choices and we should not have to pay for their choices. Get a job, you lazy bums. And your choice to do drugs or commit crimes to fuel your habit does not make me responsible to give you anything.

Millions or billions of dollars in giveaways and bonds that we all pay for just so some can live “free”? Guess what: it isn’t free for me.
