Pedestrian struck, killed while walking across I-205 in Vancouver

No one else injured in Wednesday evening crash near Mill Plain Boulevard interchange

A 44-year-old Vancouver man was struck and killed late Wednesday night while walking across Interstate 205 near Mill Plain Boulevard interchange, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A bulletin from the Washington State Patrol said the man was in the northbound lanes, crossing from the right shoulder to the left shoulder at about 10:37 p.m. when he was struck by a 2011 Chrysler 300 driven by Benjamin Moldovan, 42, of Brush Prairie.

The pedestrian, whose name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.  No one in Moldovan’s vehicle was injured, the bulletin said.
