Letter: Protect our house

By Ron Pulliam, Ridgefield

“This is my house and we’re taking it back,” shouted the wide-eyed middle-aged white guys smashing windows at the U.S. Capitol building. They went on to trash “Our House,” the heart of our democracy.

People like that are like floundering fish unable to make their way upstream. Flapping and gasping and hoping for the return of a lost world. A world that has become an alternative reality, designed by a homemade God to coddle their dislike for education, diversity and inclusion. A world where it’s easier to point a finger rather than to work for a common cause. A world Rep. Vicki Kraft seems to favor. She, and Donald Trump, should pay the damages.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
