Wednesday’s high school sports calendar is full of state girls soccer first-round matches featuring local teams playing locally.
The Camas girls soccer team earned the No. 1 seed into the 4A state tournament. The Papermkers, fresh off their win in the bi-district tournament, will host Kennedy Catholic of Burien in a first-round match at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Doc Harris Stadium.
All three Clark County entries from the 2A Greater St. Helens League will host first-round state games on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Ridgefield, the 2A district champion, earned the No. 3 seed and will host No. 14 Enumclaw at Ridgefield High School. Columbia River, the 2019 2A state champion, is the No. 5 seed and will face No. 12 White River of Buckley at Kiggins Bowl. And Hockinson, the 2A GSHL co-champion and district runner-up, will play as the No. 7 seed against No. 10 Sehome of Bellingham at District Stadium in Battle Ground.
In the 1A first round, No. 5 seeded La Center will play No. 12 Bush School of Seattle at Woodland High School.
Kelso will open the 3A state playoffs at home against Shorecrest at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Kelso.
The prep football state playoffs open this weekend with games on Friday and Saturday.
No. 14 seed Kelso will travel to Seattle Memorial Stadium to play No. 3 O’Dea of Seattle in a 3A first-round game at 5 p.m. Friday. In Class 2A, No. 8 Hockinson will play No. 9 Enumclaw at 7 p.m. Friday at District Stadium in Battle Ground.
Three other Clark County teams have games set for Saturday.
In Class 4A, Camas drew the No. 5 seed and will host No. 12 Puyallup at 5:30 p.m. at Doc Harris Stadium. Skyview got the No. 10 seed and will travel to play No. 7 Sumner at Sunset Chev Stadium at 7 p.m.
In Class 2A, Ridgefield earned the No. 5 seed and will host No. 12 Orting at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Ticket prices for state-tournament games are $10 for adults and students with an ASB card, $7 for seniors and students with ASB.
