Isaiah Cowley of Ridgefield has been voted the Week 1 high school football player of the week, sponsored by Northwest Personal Training.
Cowley received 385 of the 1,120 votes cast this week to win the honor. Cowley caught five passes for 112 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Heritage.
Winners of the player-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no player may be nominated in consecutive weeks.
Darren Cepeda, La Center: The quarterback completed 11 of 15 passes for 115 yards and rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Cascade Christian.
Aiden Nicholson, Mountain View: The sophomore tight end/defensive end had a sack and four tackles for loss and caught three passes for 52 yards and a touchdown in a win over Kentlake.
Chance Naugle, Castle Rock: Naugle passed for 144 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Mark Morris.
Thor Stepina, Prairie: The senior rushed for 180 yards and four touchdowns, caught three passes for 29 yards had two interceptions in a win over Washougal.
