Prep Highlights: Ridgefield boys soccer edges Hockinson in OT

Cook scores winner for second-place Spudders

Chase Cook scored three minutes into overtime as Ridgefield boys soccer beat Hockinson 2-1 on Tuesday.

Jude Willis put the Spudders ahead in the 12th minute, but Hockinson tied the match with a goal in the second half.

Ridgefield improved to 5-2-1, second place in the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League.

Stars of the day

  • Makani Geisen, King’s Way Christian baseball, threw a complete game two-hitter, striking out 12 and walking one in a 8-2 win over Kalama. He also went 2 for 3 with two RBI and a double.
  • Alex Harris, Columbia River boys soccer, scored a hat trick in a 5-1 win over R. A. Long.
  • Brandon Nguyen, Ridgefield boys track and field, the freshman won the 100 meters and 200 meters and placed second in the long jump at a dual meet against Fort Vancouver.
  • Danica Allen, Ridgefield girls track and field, the freshman won the 400 meters and 800 meters and helped the 1,600 relay team to victory in a dual meet against Fort Vancouver.
