Fort Vancouver’s Rose Ugbinada is the Northwest Personal Training Week 18 prep athlete of the week

Ugbinada placed second in the 2A/1A state bowling tournament last week

Fort Vancouver’s Rose Ugbinada is the Northwest Personal Training Week 18 high school athlete of the week.

Ugbinada beat out fellow bowler Lilly Bash of Prairie for the honor.

Ugbinada placed second in the 2A/1A state tournament, bowling games of 193-225-163-257 for an 838 series.

Nominees are posted each Monday and voting continues through 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Here are the accomplishments of the other nominees:

LILLY BASH, PRAIRIE BOWLING: Bash won the 3A state championship, bowling games of 166, 223, 171 and 221 for a 781 series.

NATALIE FRALEY, KELSO BASKETBALL Fraley broke her own school record by scoring 41 points in a win over Evergreen, adding 15 stealing and 11 rebounds. She also scored 18 points in a win over Prairie.

HALLIE KEMPF, CAMAS GYMNASTICS: Kempf won the bars and beam (scoring 9.7 on beam) en route to taking the all-around with a score of 36.6 in a four-team meet at VEGA.

JON SCHOENLEIN, SKYVIEW WRESTLING: Ranked fifth in the state, the freshman continue a standout season by winning the 160-pound division at the 4A district tournament.
