Top-ranked CJ Hamblin of Mountain View, Ethan Freund of Kelso win 3A regional titles

Kelso takes the team title, beating out Mountain View as 3A GSHL wrestlers shine

Top-ranked CJ Hamblin of Mountain View and Ethan Freund of Kelso advanced to the 3A state meet with wins at the regional meet Saturday at Eastside Catholic in Sammamish.

3A Greater St. Helens League teams fared very well with Kelso taking the team title with 208 points, followed by Mountain View (199.5). Prairie placed fourth and Heritage and seventh.

Freund was one of five individual champions for Kelso, joined by Wesley Leeper (106), Ashton Ammons (113), Michael Hause (182) and Brady Phillips (285).

Hamblin was joined on the top podium by Mountain View teammate Jeffrey Chilson, who won at 138, and Nathan Wadleigh, who won at 145. Prairie’s Alex Ford took the title at 160.
