Clark County law enforcement agencies will be conducting additional motorcycle safety patrols this summer.

Agencies including the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Battle Ground Police Department, Ridgefield Police Department, Vancouver Police Department and Washington State Patrol will focus on illegal driving behaviors by both motorcycle riders and vehicle drivers, according to the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.

More motorcycles are on the road in the summer months and more motorcyclists are injured or killed in crashes, the traffic safety commission said. Educational videos on road safety can be found at itsafineline.com.

In 2021, 14 percent of people who died in crashes in Washington were motorcyclists, according to data from the safety commission.
