Letter: Responsible statecraft is lacking

I agree with everything that William Sterr stated in his letter to the editor “Biden is a disappointment” (Our Readers’ Views, July 16), but today I’m addressing only the military expansion. It’s too bad the word “diplomacy” has fallen out of the American vocabulary. The provocative actions of the U.S. government toward Russia and China have led to a much more dangerous world. For an alternative view of the current situation, I suggest reading articles by Andrew Basevich, president of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
