Ridgefield’s Mallory Vancleave is the Northwest Personal Training Week 29 prep athlete of the week

Softball standout beats out La Center's Justin Fuller for honor

Ridgefield softball player Mallory Vancleave is the Northwest Personal Training Week 29 high school athlete of the week.

Vancleave beat out La Center baseball player Justin Fuller for the honor.

Vancleave went 6 for 10 with two doubles, three home runs, seven runs and seven RBI to help the Spudders complete an unbeaten regular season.

Here is what the other nominees did:

JUSTIN FULLER, LA CENTER BASEBALL: Fuller threw a one-hit shutout, striking out 11 and walking none, and went 2 for 4 with three RBI in a 3-0 win over Elma for the 1A district title.

HAILEY KERKER, CAMAS GIRLS TENNIS: The freshman dropped just one game in three matches in winning singles title at the 4A district tournament.

KARA MATTSON, PRAIRIE GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Mattson won the 100-meter hurdles and long jump and finished second in the triple jump at the 3A district meet.

ANNIKA YEH, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS GOLF: Yeh shot a 76 and 79 at Three Rivers in Kelso to win the 3A district tournament by 43 shots.

Nominees for the final athlete-of-the-week vote of the school year will be posted on Monday.
