Motorcyclist suffers critical injuries in crash in north Clark County

Collision with vehicle occurred Friday night on N.E. Hayes Road

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a collision with a vehicle on N.E. Hayes Road on Friday night in northern Clark County, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The collision occurred around 9:12 p.m. Friday on N.E. Hayes Road near the intersection of N.E. Polar Avenue, along the Lewis River.

First responders arrived at the scene to find the injured motorcycle rider and the driver of the vehicle, who remained on the scene. Initial reports are the motorcycle was passing cars and did not have any lights on. Speed is believed to be a factor in the collision.

The motorcycle rider was transported by helicopter to Peace Health Southwest Medical Center with critical injuries.

NE Hayes Road was closed for several hours Friday night and into Saturday morning while detectives conducted their investigation.
