Clark County law enforcement agencies plan DUI patrols for St. Patrick’s weekend

Clark County law enforcement agencies will be doing extra patrols watching for drunk drivers this St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

The Battle Ground Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Vancouver Police Department and Washington State Patrol are participating through the Target Zero program. The program aims to reduce the number of serious or fatal car crashes.

The Washington Traffic Safety Commission encourages people to:

  • Plan a safe and sober ride home before celebrating.
  • Not let someone get behind the wheel if they have used alcohol, cannabis or other drugs.
  • Offer to be a designated driver.
  • Call 911 if you see an impaired driver.
  • Always wear a seat belt.
