Eight straight regular-season wins and a dominating state preliminary round showing has Camas in a good spot headed into the Class 4A state football playoffs.

Camas (9-1) was given the No. 3 seed by a Washington Interscholastic Activities Association seeding committee on Sunday.

That came after the Papermakers rolled past Federal Way 56-7 on Friday to return to the state playoffs after having their season end in Week 10 last year.

The Papermakers will host No. 14 Mount Si at 5 p.m. Saturday. The Wildcats (7-3) from Snoqualmie finished tied for second in the Metro League.

Should Camas win its first-round game, the Papermakers would host a state quarterfinal matchup against No. 6 Kamiakin or No. 11 Emerald Ridge.

Class 4A Greater St. Helens League runner up Skyview was given the No. 5 seed and will face No. 12 Skyline at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kiggins Bowl. If the Storm (9-1) win they would travel to face No. 4 Eastlake or No. 13 Sumner no matter who wins that first-round game.

Class 3A GSHL champion Mountain View is a No. 12 seed. The Thunder (9-1) will travel to No. 5 Kennewick (9-1) for a first-round game against the Mid-Columbia champions at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Both Class 2A GSHL teams to reach the state playoffs are headed on the road. League champ Woodland (8-2) was given a No. 9 seed and travels to No. 8 Clarkston (7-2). Washougal (8-2) is a No. 10 seed and will hit to road to face No. 7 Orting (9-1) at 7 p.m. Friday.

Trico League champion La Center will stay home for the first round of the Class 1A state playoffs, though the game might be played on the artificial turf at Woodland. The Wildcats (10-0) are the No. 8 seed and face No. 9 Omak (6-4). The winner gets top-seeded Royal, which has won the last three 1A state championships.

In the state playoffs for the first time, Seton Catholic (9-1) is the No. 12 seed and will face No. 5 King’s at 6 p.m. Saturday in Shoreline.
