Slowpitch softball player wins honor in a close vote

Delaney Bollman of Evergreen is the The Columbian 2023-24 Week 4 high school athlete of the week.
Bollman received 1,060 of the 2,617 votes cast to win a close vote for the honor.
The senior went 13 for 13 with four home runs, two doubles and 15 RBI in three games.
Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.
Nominees are posted and voting begins each Tuesday and runs through Thursday.
Here are the accomplishments of the other nominees:
SHAELA BRADLEY, LA CENTER GIRLS SOCCER: The senior had five goals and one assist in two league wins for the Wildcats.
PAIGE DANGLEIS, HOCKINSON GIRLS SWIMMING: The junior won the 100 freestyle (56.68 seconds) and 100 backstroke (1:04.86) in a meet at Mark Morris.
SYDNEY DREVES, COLUMBIA RIVER VOLLEYBALL: The junior averaged 10 kills and 10 digs, and added five aces as River won three league matches.
MATHER MINNIS, WASHOUGAL BOYS GOLF: The senior shot a 1-under 69 for 18 holes at Orchard Hills and a 3-over 39 in a win over Union at Camas Meadows.
