Junior led Papermakers to two league wins

Keirra Thompson of Camas girls basketball is the The Columbian 2023-24 Week 13 high school athlete of the week, sponsored by Killer Burger.

Thompson received more than 6,500 votes to win the weekly honor.

The junior had 13 points and six assists in a win over Union and 15 points and four assists against Battle Ground.

Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Nominees are posted and voting begins each Monday and runs through Wednesday.

Here are the accomplishments of the other nominees:

ARTHUR BAN, EVERGREEN BOYS BASKETBALL: Ban led the Plainsmen to a pair of key 3A GSHL wins, scoring 14 against Prairie and 17 against Kelso.

OWEN ROBERTSON, UNION BOYS SWIMMING: Robertson just missed a state-qualifying time in winning the 200 freestyle (1:47.71) and won the 500 freestyle (5:16.92) in a meet at Kelso.

ADDYSEN CASE, SKYVIEW GIRLS BOWLING: Case bowled games of 205, 235, 178 and 181, an average of 200, to help to two wins.

FAITH TARRANT, PRAIRIE GIRLS WRESTLING: Tarrant won all four of her matches by fall to win the 235-pound division at the Braided 64 Kelso girls tournament.
