Two people were hospitalized Saturday evening after the vehicle they were in struck a power pole about 5:30 p.m. on East Mill Plain Boulevard near Manzanita Way in Vancouver.

Three people were in the sedan, said Vancouver Fire Department spokesman Jim Flaherty. The driver, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, and one passenger was transported in stable condition, Flaherty said. The other passenger remained on the scene. Their names were not available Saturday.

The wood power pole the vehicle struck supported a high-voltage line. Clark Public Utilities was called to the scene to handle arcing power lines, Flaherty said.

The crash also caused some congestion on Mill Plain Boulevard. Vancouver police are investigating the crash.
