NEW YORK (AP) — R Betty Graybull beat Shine Upon by a 114 lengths Thursday in the $60,000 Leecoo Stakes for New York bred fillies and mares at Aqueduct.
It was the third win in the last four starts for the gray 5-year-old trained by Linda White and ridden by Eddie Castro. The trailer in the nine-horse field in the early stages, R Betty Graybull rallied five wide to surge past Shine Upon who had taken the lead at the top of the stretch.
The time was 1:38.70 for the one mile on the fast track.
R Betty Graybull paid $6.80, $3.10 and $2.70. Shine Upon returned $2.40 and $2.10. Big Brownie paid $4.40.
