Battier wins Big A’s Fit to Fight Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Battier rallied to beat Res Judicata by 112 lengths at Aqueduct on Sunday, giving Philadelphia-based horses a 1-2 finish in the $73,500 Fit to Fight Stakes.

Battier, trained by Pablo Andrade and ridden by Angel Castillo, has won four of his six races. This was his first victory away from Parx Racing.

The longest shot in the field at 12-1, Battier paid $26, $8.90 and $6.70 in the race for 3-year-olds. His time for the mile was 1:35.69.

Res Judicata returned $5.30 and $5.10 while Integrity paid $4.40 to show.
