Idaho man hurt when car strikes deer on I-205 in Vancouver

An Idaho man was injured early Saturday when his car struck a deer on Interstate 205 in Vancouver, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Carl L. Gilliam, 47, of Kimberly, Idaho, was driving south on I-205 near the state Highway 500 interchange at about 6:30 a.m. when his 1997 Chevrolet Lumina struck a deer in the roadway, a WSP bulletin said.

Gilliam was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Three passengers in the vehicle, including two children, were not injured.

No citations were issued.
