A Vancouver man was reportedly driving too fast on an icy Oregon freeway when he lost control and rolled a United Parcel Service double tractor-trailer Thursday morning.

As Odell Thomas, 55, approached traffic slowing ahead of him on eastbound Interstate 84 east of Arlington, Ore., he lost control of the tractor-trailer, which went off the road into the median and overturned, said senior Oregon State Police Trooper Mike Holloran. Thomas was transported by ambulance to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston, Ore., for treatment of minor injuries.

Troopers said it would take several hours, if not days, for crews to unload the trailers and remove the tractor-trailer from the area.
