Vancouver police responded to a reported robbery Sunday evening at a Muchas Gracias restaurant in east Vancouver.

The 911 call came in at 9:23 p.m., after a man implied he had a weapon and robbed the Mexican cuisine fast-food restaurant at 116 N.E. 117th Ave., according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian. The man fled on foot and reportedly sprayed a person who was chasing him with pepper spray.

Witnesses said they saw the man run north and continue behind the Motel 6 on Northeast Chkalov Drive, just north of Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard. He was described as a white man in his 30s who was thin and tall, and had dark blond, shoulder-length hair, a beard and a mustache, according to emergency radio traffic.

Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said Monday that the robbery suspect had not been apprehended.
