Battle Ground police seek missing 4-year-old taken by relative, say he may be in danger

Update: The Battle Ground police said Wednesday evening the boy was found safe. Officials were working with to reunite him with his family, police said, and the investigation was ongoing.

The Battle Ground Police Department is looking for a 4-year-old Battle Ground boy  who was taken by a relative Wednesday afternoon, and police say the boy may be in danger.

The police said Aziel Belza was sitting in an unattended car when, around 2 p.m., relative Lyubob Bilyk, took the car without permission. She did not have permission to take car or the boy from the residence, the department said.

Officers believe Bilyk, 34, traveled south into Oregon, and may be in the Eugene area. She’s driving a taupe or fold 2002 Toyota Camry 4-door with Washington plates 652XVU. The car’s rear, drivers-side door has some damage.

Bilyk is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds, and has brown hair and green eyes. Aziel is 3 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 32 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes.

The police asked anyone with information on the whereabouts of Bilyk, the boy or the car to call the Battle Ground Police Department at 360-342-5345.
