A Portland man died after crashing a motorcycle Sunday in southwest Washington.

Robert Horton, 48, went off northbound Interstate 5 in Kalama, hit a guardrail and was thrown from the motorcycle, according to the Washington State Patrol. The motorcycle, a 2017 Harley-Davidson Road King, kept going on the right shoulder after the crash, crossed the interstate and came to rest on the left shoulder, the agency said.

The cause of the crash, which happened about 2:30 p.m., is under investigation.
