The southbound lanes of the Interstate 5 Bridge will be closed overnight Saturday, beginning at 11 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m. Sunday morning.

Drivers can still travel southbound via the Interstate 205 Glenn Jackson Bridge. Opposite the Interstate Bridge, the northbound lanes of the Glenn Jackson Bridge are closed this weekend, from 10 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing construction.

Crews are scheduled to carry out maintenance on the southbound lanes of the Interstate Bridge that could not be performed while drivers are traveling along the freeway, according to a press release from the Oregon Department of Transportation. Crews from the Oregon and Washington departments of transportation will replace signs, restore pavement and repair some electrical systems.

The closure is in place between state Highway 14 (Exit 1B) and Janzen Beach (Exit 308).
