Prep football Week 2: Ridgefield vs. Woodland

When, where: 7 p.m. Friday at Woodland High School

Records: Ridgefield 0-1, Woodland 0-1. Non-league game.

Game notes: Former 2A Greater St. Helens League rivals meet in a non-league game. Woodland beat Ridgefield 41-14 last season, the fourth consecutive year the Beavers have beaten the Spudders. … The Beavers are young and inexperienced this season, but they had a solid showing against a good Kalama team, with the Chinooks winning 25-13. … Woodland was tied 13-13 in the fourth quarter, but fumbled the ball away twice in the final quarter. … Cy Whitemore rushed for 90 yards and touchdown and WR Nick Fuller had three catches for 68 yards and TD for Woodland. … Dylan Young helped Ridgefield get the season off to a positive start with a 24-23 win over Fort Vancouer. Young returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for TD. … Young finished with 190 yards rushing on 22 carries and two rushing TDs, as the Spudders built a 21-0 lead then had to hang on.
