Lovely Lil takes Union Avenue Stakes at Saratoga

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Favored Lovely Lil, ridden by Ramon Dominguez, rallied in the stretch and drew away to a 134-length victory in the $75,000 Union Avenue Stakes for fillies and mares bred in New York at Saratoga Race Course on Monday.

The Michael Hushion-trained 4-year-old ran 6 furlongs in 1:10.59 and earned $45,000 for owner Barry K. Schwartz. Lovely Lil paid $3.80, $2.80 and $2.40.

Runner-up Nicole’s Miss El returned $7 and $4.70 and Lady Gracenote, third of seven, paid $5.80 to show.
