C C’s Pal wins Big A’s Garland of Roses Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — C C’s Pal, the even-money favorite, surged in deep stretch Saturday to beat the front-running Isn’t She Grand by 214 lengths in the $65,000 Garland of Roses Stakes for fillies and mares at Aqueduct.

Junior Alvarado was aboard for trainer Rick Dutrow as the 4-year-old improved to 6 for 24. The time was 1:10.56 for the six furlongs on the fast track.

C C’s Pal paid $4.10, $2.60 and $2.10. Isn’t She Grand returned $3.80 and $2.70 while Cinco de Mayo Mio paid $3 to show.
